Make Architects has been appointed as masterplanners for the Speirs Locks project on the Glasgow branch of the Forth & Clyde Canal.
The appointment followed a comprehensive design competition which involved project stakeholders and the local community in the selection process. The winning team, made up by Make, landscape designers Rankin Fraser, artists KOAN3 and community engagement consultants Kevin Murray Associates, showed a strong vision of Speirs Locks as a new canalside destination, recreating strong links
between the waterway and the city centre of Glasgow once again.
Community input to the plans is vitally important and a day long series of events will take place on Tuesday 25th March to allow anyone with an interest in the revitalistion of the canal corridor to have their say. Following this the team will work up final options and present these to the community in May. More details can be found at
